Who we are in relation to your data

FPOHR is the data ‘Controller’ for any personal data that you provide to us on our website, via Face Book or donation avenues.  FPOHR will process your personal data in line with all applicable laws including the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  The contact details for FPOHR can be found at the bottom of this policy.

FPOHR take our supporters personal information and its privacy very seriously.  We will always assess the requirements of keeping your personal data.  You may have:

  • Rehomed a dog or cat with us
  • Provided financial donations from various avenues
  • Demonstrated an interest in our rescue by contacting us for more information, e.g. to find out more about one of our products, services or campaigns via various avenues
  • Asked us for help in any way.

FPOHR does not obtain and process any personal data from visitors to its website other than that which is knowingly and given voluntarily.

The personal data, such as your name, postal address, email address and other relevant contact details may be collected by FPOHR when you populate any of our online forms.  We may process such information to satisfy your requests for information and notify you by email, telephone or post about FPOHR’s services and products. In doing so, we will provide you with an option to unsubscribe from future notifications.

In addition to consent, FPOHR will process your personal data for our legitimate interests, which relate to your interactions with us and also where there is a specific legal obligation.

All rehomed dogs and cats (whether fostered or adopted) are dual-registered in the adopter’s name and FPOHR this is because will continue to have an invested interest in all our animal’s futures and therefore have a legitimate interest in retaining all records relating to this.

We may from time-to-time contact you with marketing and newsletters to keep you updated on all FPOHR activities. You may also exercise your right to unsubscribe at any other time by contacting us at the email address below.

Using your personal data and information

Your personal data and information may be used within FPOHR’s offices, departments and by authorised data ‘Processors’ for the purpose of supporting our rescue.  Our staff and volunteers will only use your information to the extent needed to successfully manage the rescue.

FPOHR may disclose personal data and information if it is required to do so by law, Court order or for the prevention of fraud or crime or if we believe it is necessary to defend the rights, property or personal safety of the FPOHR website or its visitors.  FPOHR will never knowingly pass or sell any personal data onto 3rd parties.

In some circumstances FPOHR will be required to share your information with staff/volunteers who assist us with our work.  This access is only granted to the extend necessary for them to perform a service for us.  We require all service providers to comply with strict rules to protect the information you have given us.  All staff/volunteers have signed a Confidentiality Agreement.
