Liberty is another dog who was saved from dog fighters in Tanta, along with Eva. They interbreed their dogs until they cannot breed anymore and then use them as bait when they are no longer of use.
She’s around 6 years old and was used as one of the fighters.
Liberty’s poor health meant her immune system was weak, and she became sick soon after being rescued, first distemper, and then with an abscess that turned septic. Liberty spent several months at the clinic, being treated for her illnesses, and receiving extra care and good nutrition to help her get well again.
Liberty has truly been through hell and back. But she’s a true fighter, and we absolutely love her spirit. She’s now back at the farm sanctuary receiving all the love and care she deserves while hoping to find her forever home.
August 2025:
Our darling Liberty needs some help
We urgently hope to find Liberty a long term foster or even an adopter.
It’s a big ask and a hopeful one, but if you knew the place Liberty was rescued from you would understand how important her life is.
Words cannot emphasise the horrific conditions she was kept in, amongst so many suffering dogs.
Hoarding dogs, crammed on chains, floor covered in faeces, water that was black and toxic, dogs dying on the floor and being left for food.
Liberty came from dog fighters, they were breeding her and stripping her puppies away from her into a life of hell

Liberty suffered with distemper very badly

Each day of the distemper Libertys condition was deteriorating, we truly thought we were going to lose her.
First was the eye discharge, then the coughing, then she stopped eating and she lost so much weight and became skeletal.
Then the dreaded final stage came- her nose and pads hardened which means the virus had hit the brain

Now, Liberty has been cleared from the virus…. but unfortunately the damage still remains

She was once our energetic bouncy girl but with the brain damage she has now become quiet, slow and confused

She has lost some control over her bottom jaw which is a common after effect of the virus. So her tongue hangs slightly and she drools.
Liberty is still the same sweet loving girl, but has become more attached and reliant on humans.
She doesn’t leave our side, is like a shadow and just has to feel our presence.
Sadly the kennels are no place for a dog like Liberty.
She needs to have daily medications, be mentally stimulated and she needs to be monitored carefully.
Liberty needs regular exercise and human interactions otherwise life in the kennel will just deteriorate her mentally.
We will raise funds for her travel.
We will also cover all her medication and vets visits along with her food for life.
All we need is a loving home, a soft bed, and a kind human to give Liberty the care she desperately needs.
Liberty would happily live with a male dog, she can live with teenagers, but due to her past she cannot live with cats.
