Poor Ember was struck by a train, and we believe this was deliberately caused by a human.
He was left on the street for four days with one leg hanging in pieces.
He had sepsis, and needed an emergency antibiotics.
When we heard about Ember’s plight, we immediately went to find him and gave strong pain relief, antibiotics, and IV fluids while the vet prepared her for surgery.
Surgery was very difficult as the damage was severe. We couldn’t wait to do a blood test beforehand, so we were unsure of his condition fully, which meant surgery was a risk, but also we had no choice.
He took a long while to recover from anaesthesia which was very worrying, but luckily he came around.
Once she was more stable, a full assessment showed Ember was also suffering from anaemia, which could be fixed with medication.
Ember made a good recovery and is adapting well to life as a tripaw. He’s now ready for adoption!
