Duke had a hard life… His body showed a lifetime of neglect, inadequate food, a lack of medical care, and most of all, no love whatsoever.
He appeared to have some nerve damage to his spine that affected his walking, possibly from a past beating or a fall from a roof (the usual candidates), and he also had an old leg injury. Duke is such a good boy and very trusting with the vet, but sadly, surgery wasn’t an option for him.
Duke spent time at the farm, enjoying the sunshine and learning that not all humans were bad. Sadly, his legs could no longer carry him, and he passed away on 30 July 2025.
