September 2025:
We found Ozzie with a leg injury so severe that his bone was visible. The muscle tissue had been ripped away. It was clear this came from a bite, and his body was covered with bite wounds. We suspect he was used as a bait dog by dog fighters. His injured leg also had sepsis, and the only option was to amputate it. He had no sensation in it, and it was just scraping along the floor.
November 2025:
Once Ozzie’s infection had cleared and his health had stabilised enough, he had his damaged back leg amputated. He’s now a lot happier and no longer in pain, and he’s adjusting quickly to having three legs. He gets around really well! His tail wags, and he’s learning to feel love.
