December 2024:
When looking for dogs to spay we found River. A old black baladi covered in tumours.
Even though it was unlikely she could have puppies, the thought of leaving her on the street was unimaginable so we picked her up anyway. The vet thinks River could be as old as fifteen. She only has two teeth in her mouth.
We weren’t sure she’d survive the surgery to remove her tumours, but she made it through, and due to her age and lack of being able to eat, we decided to keep her at the sanctuary. She couldn’t go back onto the street.
We hoped to find her a home for her last years, and the perfect family got in touch!
In May 2025, River flew to the UK to live the rest of her life in comfort 💜
