We found Rose abandoned on the streets, and her condition reflected just how horrifically abused and neglected this sweet girl had been. She had a deep cut in her neck from a where a rope had been tied, a broken leg, and to top it all, we found tumours on her uterus. How she endured such pain and loneliness for such a long time is beyond us – but of course, she didn’t have a choice.
Rose had emergency surgery to remove her uterus along with the tumours. Thankfully, she responded well and made a good recovery. Her wounds heal, she began to put on some much-needed weight, and her fur has grown beautifully.
November 2025:
There is still some bother with Rose’s leg, as we noticed she had a lump on it. X-rays showed that the lump is from the old break, where the bones have fused together incorrectly and caused inflammation. We would like to get the lump checked by a specialist, but unfortunately, this isn’t available in Egypt. Thankfully, the vet says she isn’t in pain, which is a relief.
The biggest change we have noticed is how loving Rose is. She’s so sweet and affectionate, and she adores her cuddles. She’s also formed a lovely friendship with Teddy, who she adores. Now Rose is on the farm, and she’d love to find a forever home in the UK where she can get all the attention she deserves.
