We think Winston is around ten years old, although he looked even older when we first saw him, due to his life of neglect. He was found wandering in the streets of Cairo. But as we attempted to rescue him, his owner appeared, claiming he was loved and cared for and could not be taken. This dog looks as if he had a life of love, right?
We discovered his “home” was a chain outdoors, and he didn’t have food or water. Not even a bowl. For days, a friend of the rescue kept going back and every time we heard the same thing: “he’s my dog and he’s fine.” How can anyone think this dog’s condition is okay?
Finally, the owner agreed to hand him over. We don’t know how much time he has left. But we’re determined to show him love and kindness for the last chapter of his life.
Update August 2025:
Winston is feeling much better after some much needed care and veterinary treatment! He has a few lumps and bumps still, but the vet isn’t worried about these.
We had to shave his fur as his skin was in such bad condition, and it’s still growing back. But he’d love to find a forever home.
Update December 2025:
The worst news 🙁 We found Winston passed away in his kennel. Our hearts are broken 💔
